Recent evidence suggests that women with breast cancer continue to experience significant levels of psychological distress, anxiety, hostility, and depression, which interrupt daily life and diminish quality of life (QOL). Adaptation to a cancer diagnosis and treatment is influenced by psychosocial resources that women bring to their cancer experience, such as optimism, coping strategies, and social support (SS). ![]() ![]() Breast cancer, radiotherapy, and emotional distressÄespite overall improved survival rates, a diagnosis of breast cancer continues to generate distress in the lives of many women.
